Stop Screwing Yourself and Get The Life You Want

Willing

The other day I had a meeting with my Goal Buddy aka Mastermind Partner, Margo Chevers (www.margochevers.com). For those unfamiliar with the goal buddy or mastermind partner, this is a person (or group of people) with whom you meet for the purpose of mutual development and growth.

The key here is accountability. Goal buddies (GB) and mastermind partners (MP) typically meet on a regular basis. We set goals, discuss obstacles and solutions, encourage and support one another, and, yes, occasionally kick one another in the butt.

Sometimes, too, our GB or MP reminds us of the things we already know. Margo did just that. She reminded me of something I knew, but for some reason had discounted, at least temporarily. She reminded me of the importance of willingness.

Success is rarely about being the most talented, the most educated, the most intelligent. Success is about the willingness to do what it takes to succeed. The willingness to take action, to do things other people won't do (yet who are willing to sit around whining and complaining about not being successful). I was fortunate to learn this lesson at a very young age. Don't ask me how I learned it. I just sensed that a willingness to work for success would supersede any perceived limitations.

As you move forward in your life think about what you truly want. Ask yourself: What am I willing to do to get what I want? Am I willing to work harder? Am I willing to take my lumps, so to speak? Am I willing to get back up after I've taken those lumps?

Be continually ready to be willing to do the things others won't do-to take the hits, to persist, to remain positive, to surround yourself with positive and supportive people. Be willing to continually grow, learn, and take action. Over the long run, you will be rewarded.

Be Willing To Find A Way.
