Aim Too Low
Most people aren't as successful as they could be; they don't completely live out their dreams. And it is not because they Aim Too High and miss, it's usually because they Aim Too Low and succeed.
When we have a big dream, vision, or goal, there is an immediately tendency to focus on two things:
- The How. We get too focused on how we will go about it. We come up with ideas, and more ideas, then even more ideas, but never take focused action. The How will come if we are patient and maintain our focus.
- The Why Nots. We start to think about all the reasons why we might not succeed. This scares the heck out of us and we slay our dream in the in the process.
Why do so many people Aim Low? Aiming Low is less fearful, less challenging, and requires less energy. Think about this. Not only do small goals require less energy; they give you less energy. Who could be inspired by a goal like "enough money to pay my bills"? If you follow your dreams with love and passion, you'll still pay all the bills. Yet the energy you will have by Aiming Higher will transform your life, make you glow and make you grow.
The key is to stay focused on your dreams, goals, vision, your WHY, your reasons for wanting to achieve your vision. The more energy and thought you give to them, the less time you have to think about The How and the Why Nots.
Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will your life vision. It is a process. What you can do today? Start....just get started. Take a step, any step. If you are worried or fearful, focus on the dream, vision, or goal. Call someone supportive. E-mail me: dennis@find-away.com
Aim high. Even if you fall a little short, you will win.
"Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they've got a second. Give your dreams all you've got and you'll be amazed at the energy that comes out of you!"
