I Can Do That
About 25 years ago I read a quotation on Persistence by Calvin Coolidge, our 30th President of the United States. He was a local man, aka homeboy to me, having been mayor of Northhampton and governor of Massachusetts.
I never considered myself to be talented or overly bright; I figured I was average. When I read Coolidge's quote on persistence, my first and only thought was...WOW...I Can Do That. I can be persistent... I can keep pressing on after others have quit. And even though I screw up once in a while (okay lots), and get stuck or stalled, I get back on track and persist!
Here is another good quote by Napoleon Hill from his famous book Think and Grow Rich: "Patience, persistence, and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success."
If you want the best in life you can have, persist at working toward your dreams. Hey...You Can Do That!

Oh I guess I should include the quote:
"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race." ~Calvin Coolidge
