Stop Screwing Yourself and Get The Life You Want

Quit is a 39 Point Word

"Quit is a four letter word, and is worth 39 points in scramble, but not in life." I recently heard these words while listening to a CD by Jeffery J. Fox.

Fox's quotation reminded me of a quote by William Feather: "Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go." This is one I live by-hang on, keep trying, keep moving forward. And this is a message I encourage you to embrace.

There may be a day or two, or a week or so when you get tired, discouraged, even bored. Yes, you may get off track occasionally. But quitting...quitting is not an option! Quitting gets you no points in life; it just gets you a bunch of "wish I had...sorry I didn't" regrets.

Too many people, as William Feather says, let go. But those who don't give in ultimately win. And they win BIG! They win inside, and that is where all the real winning takes place-within-when you know you have made the effort, done your best, kept on going.

One of my favorite books is by Robert Schuller. It's titled, Tough Times Don't Last, But Tough People Do. Whatever it is you want for your life, keep moving in a positive direction and invite success. Tough times don't last, tough people do and quitters rarely get ahead.

If you are on track, stay on and keep pushing. If you are off track, take some time to think about your dreams, vision, and goals. Call positive people who will remind you that you can do it. Call your coach or mentor, and if don't have one...find one. Do what it takes, a little each day, and you will be surprised at the results.

Take my friend, Butch, will finish college next year with an Engineering degree. He did it one course per semester. It took him 17 years...he never quit...he's a winner.

Now, in Scrabble, WINNER may only be a 9-point word. In life, its bonus points are worth so much more.

"When I was young I noticed that nine out of ten things I did were failures. So I did ten times more work." -  George Bernard Shaw

No Excuses.

You are a WINNER.
